RealPresence Resource Manager Deployment on Microsoft Azure

RealPresence Resource Manager deployment on Microsoft Azure uses an Azure VNet or ExpressRoute connection between the enterprise network and Azure cloud.

The recommended configuration includes the following:

  • Manage and provision audio and video endpoints on the enterprise network.
  • Use site topology and RealPresence Clariti licensing for the RealPresence DMA system (in core or combination configuration) running on Azure.
  • Use RealPresence Clariti licensing for the RealPresence Collaboration Server running on the enterprise network.
  • Manage and provision audio and video endpoints on the internet through the RealPresence DMA system (in edge or combination configuration) via its access proxy.

Note the following about deployments in Azure environments:

  • RealPresence Resource Manager doesn’t support in-place product upgrades for Azure environments. If you want to upgrade your system, use the RealPresence Resource Manager system’s backup and restore mechanism to restore the configuration to a new instance.
  • RealPresence Resource Manager doesn’t support HA configuration for Azure deployments.
  • While deploying RealPresence Resource Manager in an Azure environment, a provisioning error message may appear on the console. You can ignore this message as it doesn’t impact functionality. The system continues in normal state.
