Configure Conference Lobby Rules

Lobby rules define which of two internal routes are used for a meeting request, based on what the dial string matches.

Two correct lobby rules are available by default, sufficient for a normal RealPresence Web Suite deployment.

Note: Do not change these rules or add a rule without first consulting Polycom Global Services.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the RealPresence Web Suite Experience Portal administration interface using super admin credentials.
  2. Navigate to Conference > Conference.
  3. To add a rule, click Add Icon image and configure the following Match, Property, and Route settings:

    Setting

    Description

    Match

This setting specifies any regular expression that matches the dial strings to be handled by the specified route.

The default regular expressions for the routes are as follows:
    • adhoc.cloudaxis.local route that matches any numeric VMR.

This is the rule used for a meeting initiated when a user logs into the RealPresence Web Suite Experience Portal and enters a permanent (static) VMR number (a conference ID defined in the RealPresence DMA system).

    • scheduled.cloudaxis.local route that matches any alphanumeric VMR.

This is the rule used for a meeting that a user either scheduled or initiated (using the Meet Now function) in the RealPresence Web Suite Services Portal.

    Property

What the match expression is applied to. This must be lobbycode (the VMR in the dial string).

    Route

The internal route used for calls that match this rule. Two routes exist:
    • adhoc.cloudaxis.local for permanent (static) VMRs defined in the RealPresence DMA system
    • scheduled.cloudaxis.local for temporary VMRs defined in the RealPresence Web Suite Services Portal
  4. To change a rule, edit the fields in the Match, Property, and Route columns.
  5. To change the priority of a rule, click Drag to Reorder Icon image and drag it up or down.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Navigate to Platform Settings > Restart.
  8. Click Reboot Server.
